Nagroid: Nagios on mobile

New unofficial Nagios client for Android devices.

Few weeks ago we introduced the Icinga's initiative to develop a client of this Nagios fork to run on iPhone and Android mobile devices.

You, Nagios user, be cool: the Nagios equivalent exists and is called Nagroid. This Simon Schoar's free program lets us know the status of a Nagios system from our Android terminal.

Besides showing the state of hosts and services, Nagroid offers additional and attractive features:

  • Its icon, visible on the top bar, shows the status of the system by changing the color of its head (online/offline), left arm (hosts problems present) right arm (service problems present)
  • Problems can be filtered to show only those unmanaged (unhandled)
  • Abnormalities can be notified by device vibration
  • It allows encrypted connections
Nagroid is an essential application in the mobile device from any Nagios administrator who wants to know the status of her/him system in real-time. Like the Icinga's initiative, we predict a bright future for ths kind or programs and endless discussions with our familiars and friends by do not stop looking at the phone even for a second.

Nagroid can be downloaded from the project's website or from Android Market. You can see more screenshots on Simon's blog.
